He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians. Dr. Penek has also been a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine-Sleep Medicine since 2007.
